DIVISION ONE CUP FINAL

Brookhouse met Woodham Town in Sunday's final, and Brookhouse started well, while Woodham's early riposte's were long shots from Bob Owers and Dave Cornwell.

Woodham took the lead, when Julian Dorado latched onto a through ball to advance and net with some ease.

Brookhouse fought back well to dominate without looking like scoring, until Lee Sterland smashed home a loose ball into the roof of the net for the equaliser.

Phil Cato had a good game at left back for Brookhouse and his fine headed clearance from a goalbound effort kept the scores level.

Woodham's Mark Dorado then saw a shot cleared off the line with suspicions of a penalty but the appeals were waved away by the referee.

Brookhouse should have secured victory but Carl Wilkinson's glaring miss from from six yards out saw his shot go high and wide.

Into extra time, and both sides had chances to score a second goal, but the extra period finished goalless, and so a penalty shoot-out was needed to decide the winner.

Radars took an early advantage but Brookhouse goalkeeper Neil Royce then made a super save and Wilkinson made up for his earlier missed chance to put away the final penalty and secure the cup for Brookhouse.
