South Woodham Police are appealing for people to be alert after an elderly woman had £120 stolen from her purse.
The woman answered the door to her home in Hayes Chase on Monday to a man who asked for a glass of water and to use the bathroom. After he left she discovered the cash had been taken from her purse.
The man is described as aged about 20, 5ft 10ins, slim with short brown hair wearing dark trousers.
