Young Charlotte Pestell paraded her special fluffy chick at her school's Easter bonnet parade.
The six-year-old joined classmates from Kents Hill Infants School, in Kents Hill Road, Benfleet, as they showed off their hard work.
Her straw hat with the huge yellow chick drew admiring looks from her classmates who produced colourful designs decorated with rabbits, flowers, chicks and Easter eggs.
The boy and girl winner in each of the school's nine classes scooped a big egg, but every child who took part came away with a smaller chocolate treat.
Children will distribute a huge collection of eggs to Benfleet WRVS workers who will distribute them to the town's elderly folk.
