When young Manchester City fan Michael Wrathall and his parents moved to Colchester they didn't realise they would have a bearing on the First Division promotion race.

But he could do just that after being chosen as City's mascot for Sunday's crucial game away at Blackburn.

Joe Royle's side need a draw to be promoted to the Premiership but if they lose and Ipswich beat Walsall at Portman Road Town will go up instead.

Michael, who lives in Glen Avenue, Colchester, will attend the match at Ewood Park with his parents David and Sandra.
