The Recoil Trampoline Club, who train at the Brentwood Centre, Markhams Chase Sports Centre in Laindon and the Shenfield Sports Centre returned some fine results at a competition in Harlow.

Members as young as five were entered in the competition.

The team in the Under 9 starters group were Emma De Cruz, Rebecca Smith, Daisy Fullbrook and Jade Malloy, who all competed for the first time.

Neil Dorrington won Gold in the U18 male grade 6, and Silver for Lisa Gibbons who also gained the qualifying score needed to progress to Grade 2, just one step away from the National grade.

Cara Johnston won a Bronze trophy in the U11 grade 5 group and Daniel Phillips also won Bronze in t he U13 boy's grade 5.

Team Silver went to the Recoils U15 girls' grade 5 team, Samantha Wilson, Erin Johnston, Catherine Semon and Emily Fitch.

Although Recoil is a competitive Trampoline Club, the dedicated coaches believe they provide a good mix of hard work and fun for their members, some of whom are as young as three years old.

The club regularly participates in fund raising events for the county's various charities, most recently the Essex Air Ambulance.

In the two years that the club has been in existence, members have raised in excess of £1,000.

Recoil also boasts a popular senior session, which is for anyone over fifteen years that wishes to enjoy trampolining.

Many adults go along because they want to return to this popular sport perhaps after some years away from it; others attend for the fun of this great health giving activity.

Recoil's senior session also caters for those who need to train for the GCSE's or 'A' Levels in Physical Education.
