Police are hunting three men who stole hundreds of pounds from the till of a DIY superstore in Benfleet.

The trio, who are all in their late teens and early 20s, walked into the Do It All shop in Church Road, at around 5pm on Monday.

Two of the men distracted staff while the other man forced open the till and took £650. Police are appealing for information to help catch the thieves.

One is white, slim, with ginger-coloured wavy hair and was wearing white jogging bottoms, a white T-shirt with striped arms and white trainers.

The second man was well-built with short, dark hair and he wore a white T-shirt, white trainers and baseball cap.

The third man was tanned, slim, had short hair and was wearing black jogging trousers or jeans, a white T-shirt, white trainers and a Nike hat. Chief Insp Steve Bottrill, of Rayleigh police, said: "Two of the men distracted staff while the other man took the money from the till. "If anyone saw anything or has any information, we would like them to contact us."
