PREMIER DIVISION

The race for the league championship will go to the final games after Marconi completed their fixtures with two victories and became the new leaders.

In midweek a visit to Braintree & Bocking United saw Marconi win 4-1, Wilkinson, Wiffen, Crozier and Steve Wright on target for Marconi, and Andy Johnson netting United's consolation goal.

On Saturday, Marconi put paid to Beacon Hill Rovers' hopes of the championship by beating them 3-0, Carl Wilkinson netting all three goals.

Southminster lost 2-1 at Hullbridge on a poor surface.The home team took the lead and James Bird levelled before half-time but Hullbridge netted what proved to be the winning goal in the closing minutes.

DIVISION ONE

Margaretting thrashed Anglia Poly 7-2, Anthony Waring and Dave Smith on target for the students.

In midweek, Anglia Poly shared two goals and the points with visitors Writtle Manor .

Matt Elderton scored all the first half goals which gave Mundon Vics a comfortable 4-0 interval lead against Writtle Manor .

Stuart Emerson netted two goals after the restart to make it 6-0 before Manor replied with a consolation goal.

Braintree & Bocking United Reserves were 2-0 down early on against White Roding .

McIntyre pulled a goal back before the interval and Ken Lingwood equalised in the second half but Roding then found their scoring touch again to run out 4-2 winners.

DIVISION TWO

Boreham were in fine form, as they comprehensively beat Old Brentwoods 8-0, Starling (2), Arron Johnson (2), Ratcliff (2), Dave Cook and Paul Parkhurst the scorers.

Southminster Reserves and champions Sandon Royals shared six goals and the points.

Sandon scored first only for Southminster to level with an own goal.

Sandon went ahead again before the interval but James Norris then scored twice to put the home team ahead but Sandon hit back immediately to net their third goal and to earn a share of the spoils.
