Rayleigh driver Paul Hughes turned in a magnificent performance to regain lost ground in the latest round of the MGF Cup series at Oulton Park.
Paul suffered an early setback when he was forced to start from the back of the grid following a mechanical failure during qualifying. But the gritty driver fought his way back through the 15-strong field to record a highly creditable eighth place finish.
Paul said:"It was my first time on this track and the mechanical failure yesterday meant I started last on the grid, so I was extremely pleased to get back to eighth. I feel like I'm making some progress."
