SENIOR DIVISION ONE
Essex Police entertained Kelvedon Hatch and dented their hopes of a top three finish when goals by Pitt (2) and Pike brought the home side much needed points.
Rayleigh Town hosted Hatfield Peverel and moved into a title chasing position when, despite conceding two goals to Whybrow, they took the points through Taylor (3), Sugrue, Storer and Nicholls' goals in a 6-2 win.
Table-topping Shell Club took on Sandon Royals but Manor's goal was in vain as Fisk's two strikes gave the Royals the points.
SENIOR DIVISION TWO
Epping visited Basildon Town but returned home pointless, as they lost 1-0, Cubitt scoring the only goal of the game.
Benfleet entertained promotion chasing Harold Wood Athletic and did what not many teams have been able to do, when they stopped them scoring, and earned a point from a goalless draw.
Mountnessing travelled to Herongate Athletic but the visitors' goals from M Henderson and Leon were not enough as Walsh, Powell and Ward, with two penalties, saw the relegation melting pot kept well and truly on the boil.
Nortel hosted Port of London and conceded a goal to Brooks but then netted four goals of their own, via Taylor, Perrett and Nixon (2), to run out comfortable winners.
Writtle fell back into the relegation fight when Chapman's strike was cancelled out by Dawes (2), Twin and Dunsmuir goals for White Notley.
