T. RIPPON MID-ESSEX CRICKET LEAGUE
Over a thousand pairs of eyes will be turned to the heavens as the weekend beckons, praying for clear skies as the T.Rippon Mid-Essex Cricket League season starts on Saturday.
This is the 25th season of a league which began in 1976 with just one division.
Now, 100 teams from 54 clubs make up the ten divisions with well over a thousand players turning out on a Saturday afternoon for the next 18 weeks.
At the top, Aythorpe Roding will be looking to repeat their success of last summer in the Premier Division and this year will be joined by High Roding who have reached the top league after a steady climb through the divisions.
