The club's All England Stingray Championship was held on Saturday at Hutleys Beach, St Osyth.
70 anglers turned out and the winner of the £300 First prize was Phil Buy with a stingray of 49lb 8ozs.
The fish was returned to the water after weighing.
The full result was :
First: Phil Buy 49lbs 8ozs
Second: Don MacFayden 7lbs 12ozs
Third:Richard Burt 5lbs 2ozs
The next match will be at East Lane on Saturday June 24th, booking in at 1.00pm and fishing from 2.00pm until 8.00pm.
The next club meeting will be on Tuesday 4th July at 8.00pm at the Huntsman, Shrub End Rd, Colchester, and new members are always welcome.
