Travellers on an industrial estate have revealed plans to leave "in the next couple of days".
Six families converged on Severalls industrial estate yesterday but say they have no intention of staying in the town long.
Insp John Smith, of Colchester police, said: "So far we haven't had any problems with the group, although they only arrived yesterday. We found out they were in town earlier today but at the moment we haven't got any plans to move them on."
