Benfleet's Neil Troth has been boxing less than six month but he has already proved to be a big hit.
The 26-year-old Brook Boxing Club member succeeded in knocking out Belhus Park's D Bodimeade in the third round of his first bout.
"Neil is one of the club's hopes for the future," said Brook's Vanda Jimmick. "He will be training throughout the summer ready for the the new season in the autumn.
"He has been with us for four or five months and has never done boxing before. Neil said he fancied doing it and came along to us."
