Essex library users can now browse the web for books, audio tapes, videos, DVD or CDs any time of the day or night.
The new service offers access to the complete ELAN (Essex Libraries Automated Network) catalogue with up to date information on three million items, indicating which libraries have them in stock and whether they are out on loan.
For those with an ELAN library ticket, the service also allows them to check their individual membership records, gives them the option to renew items before they become overdue, and lets them place holds on the full range of ELAN lending and check any holds placed previously.
ELAN can be reached via the libraries web pages at: www.essexcc.gov.uk/libraries or directly at elan.essexcc.gov.uk
