Firefighters were called out to free a hapless hound whose head got wedged in a wine rack.
Samantha Cook, 28, of Malvern Flats, Coleman Street, Southend returned from work on Monday night to find her puppy Bonnie dragging the empty wire wine rack around the lounge after having got her head tightly stuck in it.
However, the 15-week-old border collie looked unfazed by her predicament according to Samantha who said: "I totally freaked out but she was wagging her tail and playing around."
Samantha, a receptionist at Westcliff Casino, called the fire brigade after failing to free Bonnie's head.
She said: "I felt more embarrassed than anything else. There were four firemen there just to free my puppy". The drama was over after only ten minutes.
Firefighters Mick Crisp and Robert Orchid popped out to get a pair of bolt-croppers thinking they would have to cut Bonnie free. Meanwhile firefighters Graham Williams and Leroy Dawson eased the pup's head out by gently pulling back her ears.
