Lee Georgiou was unceremoniously brushed aside within a round at York Hall, Bethnal Green on Thursday.
The Harold Hill flyweight succumbed to his first professional defeat at the hands of Chris Emmanuel, a last minute stand-in for original opponent Tommy Craig ,who cried off with a chest infection just the night before.
The fight was only 10 seconds old when, after a flurry of blows, a solid hook from Emmanuel, who in fact was a bantamweight, connected perfectly to floor a surprised Georgiou who was counted out.
Apart from his dented pride, Georgiou will be desperate to get back into action as soon as possible in order to show his fans this defeat was little more than a fluke to spoil his unbeaten record.
