Kirby-le-Soken model James Gooding took celebrity girlfriend Kylie Minogue out. And the location for the romantic date - the bowling alley on Walton Pier.
James, a former student at Tendring Technology College, is a successful model and has featured in a number of glossy magazines.
His relationship with the actress-turned-singer is believed to have blossomed earlier this month.
Staff at the pier said they were treated just like an other customers.
A spokeswoman said: "There was no fuss or bother. She went bowling and that's it."
James' father Ernie White, who opened Frinton's first fish and chip shop, was yesterday (Tuesday) keeping a low profile as was James' mother Jenny Gooding.
Close friends from the area said they did not know if the relationship was "serious".
