The Sirco Southend Evening Cricket League was again decimated by bad weather and only two matches were played.

League chiefs reckon it is now going to be hard to fit all of the remaining fixtures in unless the weather improves.

Brad Everett played his first game of the season after injury when Prittlewell and Trinity met.

He scored 96 out of Prittlewell's score of 140-4 off 15 overs after he was dropped several times by the Trinity fielders.

Trinity looked as if there were going to reach their target, but fell short at 94-7 despite Richard Dean making 35 not out. Hudson took 4-29 for Prittlewell.

HSBC Bank continue to lead Division Two after a comfortable win over Post Office.

On a pitch of pace and bounce Mark Hardingham was the only Bank batsman to prosper, scoring 39 as his side reached 84-7 in 12 overs.

Colin Miles took 4-33 off three overs and John Turner 2-14 off 13 overs for the postmen.

Post Office could make a little of the Bank bowlers and only Robert Johnston junior was able to take any runs. He made 11 as the postmen made 52-8 in 12 overs.

Mark Callaway led the Bank attack with 2-12, his brother Andrew 2-9 and Steve Stocker 2-11.
