One of Colchester's oldest established junior football clubs is in danger of folding.
Severalls Athletic is in desperate need of a manager and players for their coming Kent Blaxill Border League division two campaign. If enough people do not come forward, the club will have no alternative but to withdraw from the league.
The club, which was founded in 1919, was based at Colchester's Severalls Hospital for 80 years but lost their playing and social facilities when the hospital closed, since when they have found it difficult to attract players.
Despite this, they now have share impressive new facilities at Mile End Recreation Ground and use the Civil Club as their social base.
Club secretary Steve Norman said: "There is a very real possibility that we may have to fold due to lack of a manager and players.
"To be fair, the players we have got have remained loyal to the club, and we have put a self-imposed deadline of the end of the month to make a final decision."
Anybody interested in managing or playing for the club should contact Steve on 01206 845104 or Robert Pomery on 01206 761903
