An extra 500 members of a historical re-enactment group could be coming to Ardleigh for the eagerly-awaited Millennium Spectacular this weekend.
Originally just 1,000 members of the Sealed Knot Society were due to turn up to recreate the siege of Colchester, but it looks likely to bring more troops.
Jill Hamblin, one of the organisers, said other preparations for the event were already underway and tickets were selling well.
Mrs Hamblin added Sealed Knot members will now be camping at Redbury Farm, Ardleigh., rather than in Langham as planned.
This is due to minor problems with the route re-enacters would have been marching from Langham to the battle site in Ardleigh.
