The gay dads are moving to an American mansion - and they are expecting triplets.

Barrie Drewitt and Tony Barlow from Bicknacre Road, Danbury, are selling up and moving to a luxury 15-bedroom mansion in Miami.

And the couple, who had twins Saffron and Aspen last year by an American surrogate, are expecting another three babies.

They have refused to confirm American reports that they are expecting a multiple birth but a close friend of the couple said: "The pregnancy has been confirmed.

"At this stage it looks as if three out of the four embryos transferred have attached to the uterus, but that it what happened the previous time and that eventually resulted in twins."

He added: "Barrie and Tony are very happy at the news and are looking forward to moving into the 15-bedroom Miami mansion."

The new American surrogate is also being moved into the Miami home, which is currently being fitted with a swimming pool and state-of-the-art security system.

She will stay there for the rest of her pregnancy and is being joined by American egg donor Tracy McCune who is "helping her to settle in".

The new babies will be biological brothers or sisters for the twins because the embryos used were frozen from the first surrogacy attempt.

The friend said: "Barrie and Tony want to help the surrogate mother to settle into their home and will be flying over to Miami on around August 11 to join her."

The couple have already sold the home they and the children share in Danbury, but are desperately looking for a buyer for the neighbouring property which they also own.

Mr Drewitt and Mr Barlow made their fortune selling off research company Hill Top Globe Crown - which has bases in Maldon and Chelmsford - for £4 million.

The friend said: "They will continue to run the company they started but will only be working two or three days a week."
