Bobby Mayes scored on his debut as Maldon Town fought out a hard-earned pre-season friendly draw with Millwall.
The Second Division side sent a strong squad to Park Drive, including Maldon old-boy Neil Harris and recent Colchester United target Scott Fitzgerald.
Former Diss Town star Mayes fired the hosts into the lead before Millwall equalised seconds before the break.
Town chairman Bob Large said: "I think we gave Millwall a bit of a shock. The previous night they'd beaten Harrow 7-0 so they were on a roll, but we proved a tougher nut to crack.
"For the first 20 minutes they played us off the park but after that we fought back and deserved to draw. It was an excellent game."
