Kirby-le-Soken women's team have been crowned as Essex bowls champions after seeing off Falcon in the regional finals of the Travelsphere National Club Championship.

They romped to victory with an impressive 3-1 away win - taking all but the pairs which they lost by six points. Veronica Simpons fought a close match in the singles to win 21-15 while Eileen Evans and her team had a comfortable 17-9 win in the triples.

Flo Yell skipped Liz Smith, Eileen Else and Evelyn Curnow to a memorable victory in the fours to win 24-17.

Falcon rallied hard in the pairs to win 18-15 respectively.

High-flying Kirby are also enjoying success in the THL and recently notched up their latest win against York Road.
