All roads lead to Billericay Town's New Lodge ground on Saturday, as Chelmsford City have their most prestigious pre-season friendly, when they entertain a strong Manchester United XI, with the match scheduled to kick-off at 3pm.

City manager Gary Bellamy says he has no worries about players fighting for a place in the starting line-up adding: "I'm sure they will all be scrapping amongst themselves to grab a shirt because everyone wants to play in this game!

"Seriously, it's a great opportunity for all the players to be able to compete against top class opposition but we shall carry on playing the way we have in our build-up for the season," he said.

"I'm more concerned at the way we play than any opposition but I am sure it will a great gama of football and entertaining for everyone."

City hope to be able to field their strongest squad yet, with injured players like the experienced Steve Portway back in contention.

Tickets for the games are still available from the club office (telephone 01245 353052) and cost £8 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Club officials are asking supporters to get to the game as early as early as possible to help ease any possible lengthy queues at the turnstiles.

After this top game City's next pre-season friendly is away to Ryman League side Bromley on Tuesday, 8th August (kick off 7.45pm).
