Rob Hayne scored an unbeaten on 92 and Chris Rayner smashed 44 in as many balls as South Woodham Ferrers made 200 for seven against Tillingham at Saltcoates Park on Saturday.

With Dorado (3-41) and Hayne (4-45) showing form with the ball as well as the bat, Tillingham were then restricted to 154 for eight, Henson hitting an unbeaten 30.

Mark Whickham scored 53 and Dave Grainger 35 as Old Chelmsfordians were bowled out for 152 at Lawford Lane by leaders Aythorpe Roding , Culleton taking five for 44.

The visitors got the runs for the loss of four wickets, Mark Rosewall scoring 40, Steve Dove-Dixon 44 and Culleton an unbeaten 34.

Aythorpe's Roding closest rivals met at High Roding , with Little Waltham making 222 for eight.

Roland Rolfe (46), Phil Arnold (45no) and Dave Parry (42) all contributed to the total as Panjwani claimed five for 41.

High Roding made steady progress in the reply, Danny Rowe hitting 48 and Darren Tredgett 47, before reaching the target with an over to spare.

Jeffries took two for 32 and DeAth two for 14 as Roding made 224 for five.

Stock totalled 191 for seven at Bentley , Turner (36) top scoring and Hickson taking two for 28.

Pulford made 39 as Bentley replied but were dismissed for 145, Hart (4-53) and Fielding (3-30) bowling well.

Great Waltham made 211 for seven at Springfield , Phil Whettel scoring 40 and Harman 39.

Danny Ely then hit 66 and West 40 as Springfield got the runs with three wickets remaining. Allen returned four for 50 and Wybrow three for 48.

Division One

Leaders Hatfield Peverel bowled out hosts Great Wakering for 120 in the top v bottom of the table clash, Tindall top scoring with 41.

Allen took five for 31 and Wager three for 25 as the leaders set themselves up for the win, which they confirmed when they reached 123 for four with Luke Stephens remaining unbeaten on 70.

Third in the table Corringham made 272 for nine against Laindon Taverners , Gareth Jenkins hitting 101 and Jason Pike 41. Linahan (jnr) took four for 51.

Linahan (snr) then struck a hard hitting 88 and Heighway 33 but Laindon were 228 for eight at the close, 44 runs short of their victory target.

Danbury recorded their third successive win with a narrow 10-run success over Galleywood .

In-form Simon Reed followed up the previous weekend's 135 against Hatfield Peverel by top scoring with 33 as the home side reached 156 for nine. Long took four for 37.

George Mawby made 53 for the visitors but with Will Davis taking five for 36 and Simon Bowring four for 38, Galleywood were bowled out for 146.

Writtle were held early on by some fine Great Baddow bowling, in particular from Bushnell who took one for three off an opening eight over spell.

Wickets then fell regularly as Byford claimed four for 39 and Olivelle four for 39 with Writtle being dismissed for 137. Bushnell ended with two for 13 from 11 overs.

Baddow started slowly but eventually reached 138 for five in 34 overs, Wilson (36no) and Bushnell (26no) seeing them home, Goodman bowled well to take three for 35 for Writtle.

South Weald stay second but they didn't have it all their own way at home to Ingatestone .

Weald made 170 all out with Clive Shaw scoring 51 and Dean Todd taking five for 59.

Gary Fisher then took four for 20 as Ingatestone were bowled out for 142, 28 runs short of their target.

Division Two

An unbeaten 150 by Willie Leadbeater formed the basis of Rayleigh's 256 for three total against Terling.

In reply, the visitors, led by Palmer (70) made a determined effort in chasing this total, but eventually ended 13 runs short, on 243 for eight.

Great Burstead had Richard Woolgar (110) to thank in reaching 207 for nine atGreat Totham , for whom O. Kendall (4-55 including a hat-trick) was the pick of the bowlers.

After tea, the home batsmen struggled against the bowling of Harvey (5-20) and Briggs (4-29) and were eventually dismissed for 175.

Ekco Monarchs were invited to bat by visitors Burnham Sports and the decision proved justified as Monarchs were dismissed for 107, Mears taking three for 22 in eight overs, Barnes two for 18 in 12 overs and Stanton two for 15 in 10 overs.

In the response, Irvine (4-13 in 11 overs) helped reduce Burnham to 20 for four but Smith (50), steadied the innings and enabled his side to reach a match-winning total of 108 for five.

Broomfield batted first at Woodham Mortimer and, with Smith taking four for 36 from 12 overs, and Mason two for 22 from 10 overs, they were restricted to 136 for eight, N. Cowell top scoring with 33.

Contributions from G. Hurst (54no) and D. Sawyer (32) then paved the way for the home side, despite economical bowling from Alexander (3-10 in 12 overs) to secure their second win of the season with a reply of 139 for seven.

Little Baddow were inserted by visitors High Easter and totalled 176 for nine, only D. Blaydes (54) and C. Julian (28) showing with the bat against A. Chester (2-11 in 12 overs), P. Bentley (3-51 in 11 overs) and A. King (2-38 in 12 overs).

The visiting batsmen were then made to struggle but A. Mann (44no) eventually guided his team to a winning total of 177 for eight.

Division Three

Roxwell made 189 for three at leaders Sandon Sports, Alan Beard scoring 103 not out, Paul Beard 27 and Bright 26.

In reply, Neil Ovel scored 104, Jeff Lewington 37 and Peter Lewington 29 not out as Sandon made 190 for two in 37 overs for an eight wicket win.

Bluehouse dismissed visitors Rankins for just 82, Bates scoring 21 while Andy Flint took five for 26 and Jon Wing three for eight.

The reply realised 83 for three with Nigel Pegg scoring 42 not out and Andy Lynch 23 not out.

Herongate were bowled out for 211 by visitors Springfield II , Dave Bull scoring 76, Clegg 40 and Follett 31 not out. Trevor Johnson took five for 56.

The visitors replied with 215 for five, Bob Chapman scoring 77, Law 29 and Johnson 22 not out.

Hockley made 209 for six at Chignal , A. Barker (74), Neil Foster (25) and Martin Paige (23) batting well while Nick Halls took two for 20 and Colin Braybrook two for 25.

The hosts fell 20 runs short as they finished on 189 for seven. Trevor Cook scored 47, Matthew Cant 34 and Ross Cant 24.

Boreham totalled 201 for eight against visitors Foulness , Mark Baker scoring 84 and John May 52 while Trevor Nunn took four for 50.

John Johnstone made 70 and Ray Warner 44 in the reply that realised 202 for five.

Division Four

The division's bottom two sides met at Stock II and Great Wakering II made 246 for two, D. Lagen (91 n.o) and J. Brandon (75 n.o) laeding the way with the bat/

In reply the home side made 247 for three, D. Grundy (66 n.o) and Prynn (61 n.o) leading the way as Stock recorded their first win.

The top of the table clash at Rayne saw South Weald II dismissed for 159, Mike Haddock and Vallance both scoring 44, while Ridgeon added 34. Richardson took three for 17, and Hockley two for 24.

In reply the hosts made 162 for six with Boetello scoring 31, Whiteside 30 and Richardson 26. Abbass took three for 27.

Hullbridge made 153 for nine atGreat Waltham II, John Oxley scoring 24 and Joe Locke 22. Kendrick took three for 27 and Tyler three for 41.

Bert Fuller made 37 and Brown 36 in the home side's response of 154 for eight, while Cole took three for 38.

Oldchurch batted first at home to Navestock and made 215 for nine, Bremner scoring 46, Aktar 43 and James 38.

Navestock then were dismissed for just 82 with R. Holmes scoring 37. Devenish took five for 13.

Purleigh were dismissed for 132 at Rayleigh Fairview , Newman taking four for 25 and Johnson three for 22.

The home side lost just three wickets in their reply of 135, Collins scoring 51 not out and Webster 45.
