East Essex SC swimmers dominated the pool, and the medal tally, during action packed finals sessions at the Kellogg's Frosties National Age Group Championships.

Brentwood's Ross Hughes, 16, powered home in the boys 200m Backstroke event, adding a second Gold to the medal won in the 400m Individual Medley event.

Team-mate Chris Watkins also took gold in the 400m Individual Medley event, in the 14 years age category.

Earlier in the day, during the Heat Declared 400m Freestyle for 13 year old boys, East Essex SC Scott McCormick also struck Gold with a superb swim, finishing in a time of 4.28.95.

Add to this a Silver medal winning swim by Christopher Watkins in the 14 years 100m Breaststroke, a Bronze for Lee Wightwick in the 15 years 100m Breaststroke and two Bronze medals for Lauren Cogdale, 12, in the 100m butterfly and 200m Individual Medley events.

As part of the Kellogg's Frosties World Class Programme, a series of district training camps are held throughout the year, offering a unique opportunity for young swimmers to train alongside equally talented peers from their region.

Included in the camps is a series of lectures on topics such as nutrition, health and injury prevention, plus valuable advice on how to cope with pressures of balancing school commitments with the demands of the sport.

Results of the Finals sessions of the Kellogg's Frosties Age Group Championships will be posted each evening on the new ASA Website - www.britishswimming.org.uk
