Burnham-on-Crouch Rugby Club has seen an excellent turn out of senior mens players on Tuesday's, much to the delight of the enthusiastic Club Coach, Alex Knapton.

The players are showing a lot of commitment in their preparations for the season ahead, and the high numbers mean that properly planned training sessions can be implemented, with lots of variation, to keep everyone on their toes.

If the numbers continue, then the Club Coaches ideas of Burnham producing a dynamic style of rugby will become a reality.

New members are more than welcome, so anybody who may have played before, or is completely new to the game, training is every Tuesday at the Dengie Hundred Sports Centre from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Ladies Team Coach, Gig Ingham, recently returned from holiday and was delighted with the reports he was hearing from the assistant coaches and with the whole attitude of the ladies side, as they prepare for another season.

The training, which is on Wednesday nights from 7,30pm to 9pm is going well, with not only new faces turning up, but also some 'old' players returning.

All ladies, of all ages are welcome, with the only requirements being enthusiastic and having fun.

Youth training progresses through the summer with all age groups on Sundays from 10am to 11.30am, and the older age groups on Tuesday's from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, while the evenings remain light.

Once the evenings start drawing in then these times will be adjusted, until the use of the floodlights is required in September, when the training will revert on Tuesdays to 6.30pm to 7.30pm.

Roger Brash and Chris Davies are delighted with the turn outs and the number of parents willing to help out.

Any new players are welcome, especially in the secondary school age groups.

Brash, who has been the main driving force on Tuesday's, has noted that an extra benefit of having the Youth Training on the adjacent pitch to the senior mens is that the younger players are able to see the senior players training, and hopefully benefit from what they see.
