A lorry driver and haulage boss have been charged with manslaughter following the death of a Colchester man on the A12 last year.
Lee Fitt, 24, of Canterbury Road, New Town, died after being in collision with a lorry on the A12 at Marks Tey on December 14.
An Essex Police spokeswoman said: "Officers from Essex Police mobile support division carried out an extensive investigation into the incident, resulting in two men from Felixstowe in Suffolk being charged with offences."
A 38-year-old haulier has been charged with manslaughter, conspiracy to falsify tachograph records and falsification of tachograph records.
A 55-year-old lorry driver has been charged with manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving, and falsification of tachograph records.
Both men have been bailed to Colchester Magistrates' Court on Thursday, November 16 for manslaughter, causing death by dangerous driving and conspiracy offences.
They will be appearing at Ipswich Magistrates' Court on November 14 on the other charges.
Mr Fitt, who worked at the Marks Tey Hotel, had been on his way back to Colchester after picking up his girlfriend Sarah Norman from Brentwood where she worked as a chef.
He was the 100th person to die on Essex roads last year.
