Colchester's loss on Saturday to old rivals Northampton saw them fall to within one point of the bottom three in Division Two.

A strike in each half from Forrester and Howard respectively saw the Essex side crash to a 2-0 home defeat at Layer Road on Saturday.

In the Third Division two goals from new striker Ben Abbey helped Southend United to a handsome 3-1 win over Macclesfield.

Munroe equalised for Macclesfield soon after the home said had gone ahead but Abbey's second, and a last-minute strike from Scott Forbes saw the Blues take all three points.

Southend remain in the play-off zone, and currently lie in fifth position in Division Three.
