A former quarry should be turned into open land for water sports, Colchester Council has agreed.
At a planning meeting members considered an application by Inworth Grange Quarry at Tiptree to extend its excavation of gravel and sand.
Tiptree Parish Council is calling for land which is no longer used by the quarry to be given back to the village and used for leisure activities.
