Samantha White lived for her horses and her passion for teaching.

Today (Tuesday), a heartbroken father spoke of his "lovely bubbly" daughter who died trying to save the horse that meant so much to her younger sister.

On Sunday, Miss White, 24, of Kingsbury Close, Marks Tey, died after her horse Bubba was in collision with a Jeep on the A12.

She had been in pursuit of her sister Vanessa's horse Samuel after it unseated its rider.

As the family struggle to come to terms with the tragedy, Dennis White and his wife, Drusilla, paid tribute to the daughter who was always ready to help anybody had a passion for riding.

"Sam and Vanessa have had horses all their lives. It was their passion, they lived for their horses," said Mr White.

"Sam rode in competitions in Wix and local shows. She was no David Broom, but she did well. She always gave 101 per cent and was always perfectly turned out."

Giving 101 per cent sums up Miss White and her enthusiasm for life was reflected in her other passion, teaching.

"From the age of 11 Sam wanted to be a teacher," said Mr White.

"She got a 2.1 at Brentwood, but by God did she have to work for it. She was not the brainiest child at school and battled for everything. Sam knew what she wanted in life. She wanted to do well and she did do well."
