Hockley Schools dominated the mini-soccer tournament organised by Rochford Council Sports Development Officer Jason Fergus.
A total of 12 primary schools competed and, after battling through groups, the youngsters took part in quarter and semi finals before the two finalists were decided.
That saw Plumberow's B team qualify to take on Hockley Primary and they won the event overall with a 1-0 success.
The tournament was held at Rochford Recreation Ground, but sadly a similar event for primary school girls, due to take place today, has had to be postponed to a later date due to the wet weather.
Said Fergus: "The boys' tournament was a big success. It lasted well over three hours in all and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who took part.
"We were very lucky with the weather, but sadly the rain that has fallen over the weekend has KO'd the girls' competition for the time being.
"However, the event will definitely be played at a later date."
