Ollie Berquez, City's leading goal scorer last season, is out for at least two months with a broken right leg sustained during the first half of last Sunday's home match with Spalding United.

The 20-year-old was injured in an innocuous first half challenge with two defenders, carried off and taken to hospital where it was confirmed he had a hairline fracture.

City manager Gary Bellamy revealed that it will sideline Berquez for between six to 12 weeks, depending on his rate of recovery.

"We have a stronger squad this season which helps when you have a long term injury like this," he said. "He should be back playing in the new year."

On the Spalding win, Bellamy said: "I think we deserved it because we were the better side and create more chances and had to break them down. All sides come to us with the same plan which is probably why we actually play more entertaining away from home."
