A woman was still in a serious condition in hospital yesterday (Monday) after a weekend road accident.
The mother-of-two received serious head injuries after a Nissan car in which she was travelling with her husband and two children was involved in collision with a sign at the Ipswich Road turn-off of the A12 at Colchester on Saturday evening.
The accident happened at 5.30pm and after the woman was taken to Colchester Hospital.
The Essex Police helicopter was called to help ferry her step-parents to the hospital.
The Cambridge force helicopter collected the woman's parents from their home in Nottinghamshire and they were collected by the Essex helicopter from Cambridge.
