Prodigy's Liam Howlett - Braintree's most famous music export - was last night (Tuesday) to add DJ to a diva as another of his many personal achievements.
Liam was to be spinning the decks along with hip-hop star Goldie at a special one-off concert by American pop superstar Madonna.
The gig, which many musical insiders are calling the concert of the year, was taking place at the Brixton Academy tonight.
The line up will be completed with sets by Richard Ashcroft and Sharleen Spiteri, lead singer with rock group Texas.
Tickets for the concert, which is Madonna's only European gig of the year, have not been on public sale, and the majority of the audience will be made up of competition winners from all over Europe.
In 1997 Madonna signed the Braintree band to her Maverick record label in a deal thought to be worth more than £2 million.
