Victims of hate crime in Harold are being urged to call their local Community Safety Units (CSUs).
They are being encouraged to support a drive against the problem as part of a massive publicity campaign by the Metropolitan Police Service.
The Harold CSU is based at Hornchurch Police Station.
Thousands of leaflets, printed in 11 languages, are being distributed across Havering, including Harold Hill on Gooshays Drive, libraries, doctors' surgeries and other venues in local communities.
The leaflet, Tackling Hate Together, gives advice and contact numbers for victims targeted because of their race, colour, religion, sexual orientation, disability or anyone who has experienced domestic violence.
Central coordinator of the CSUs, Det Con Kevin Shapland said: "Hate crime hurts us all, striking at the very heart of our communities.
"These leaflets are designed to reassure the public that the Met takes hate crime very seriously.
All CSUs fall under the remit of the Metropolitan Police Service's Racial and Violent Crime Task Force.
