A knockout night is in store for Ongar traders and revellers when the town's Christmas lights are switched on by former world heavyweight boxing champion, Frank Bruno, tomorrow (Friday).
Many shops will be open to join in the fun when the lights go on around Manor Square at 6.30pm.
Ongar Town Partnership say the occasion will also feature music and carol singers with a range of hot snacks being laid on free to boost the festive atmosphere.
And the festivities are set to continue the next day with a grand parade led by the town crier which starts out from Shakletons at noon.
He will be followed by a majorette troupe, a marching band and Father Christmas in his sleigh while members of the public are being invited to join in the fun by parading in fancy dress costumes.
