In the only Schweppes Essex Senior League game to survive the weather, Bowers United continued to show good form by giving themselves a healthy push up the table.
They visited Canvey to take on Concord Rangers at Thames Road and returned with all three points after a 3-2 success.
Concord looked like heading for victory when Keith Pullen's goals after six and 15 minutes gave them a 2-0 interval lead, but Brian Horne's men retaliated with a 57 minute Paul Donovan effort.
An own goal levelled the scores after 65 minutes and Lee Goodwin grabbed the winner for the Pitsea outfit five minutes from time.
In the Ancient Order of Foresters League Cup, Saffron gave themselves a chance of qualifying from Group A when they beat Barkingside 3-1.
Weather permitting, there's a full and varied programme of midweek matches involving Senior League clubs with Hullbridge's clash at Lower Road against Billericay Town tomorrow in the third round of the Essex Senior Cup topping the bill.
Concord are due to visit East Ham on Wednesday in the Ancient Order of Foresters League Cup in a match which could well determine who wins Group C.
