Firms have been urged to get their views into the Essex Chambers of Commerce about Government plans to bring a supplementary business rate levy.

The extra tax has been floated in the local government Green Paper as a way of giving councils a slice of money from businesses which can be spent locally.

Chamber policy officer Sally Palmer said: "It would be helpful if any businesses wants to make any comments to talk to us and they will get taken into consideration."

If you want to register your opinion on the levy, call Roger Kemp, membership executive, at the chamber's Westcliff branch on 01702 716000.
