ESSEX JUNIOR CUP THIRD ROUND

Hullbridge recorded a narrow 3-2 win over Sparkbridge on Saturday to make progress in this major competition.

Leading by a Steve Ogilby penalty at the break they needed another Ogilby spot kick four minutes from time to go through to the fourth round. Andrew Hayes netted Hullbridge's second goal.

ESSEX JUNIOR TROPHY THIRD ROUND

Latchingdon lost 3-2 at Hempstead United , Howlett and Howard the visitors' scorers.

PREMIER DIVISION LEAGUE CUP FIRST ROUND

Anglia Poly thrashed a depleted Margaretting side 8-2.

Anglia led 3-0 at the break and their goals came via the impressive Alan Sharrocks (2), Tim Coucher, Neil Mansell, Anthony Waring, Rees Davis, Andre Esponda and an own goal.

PREMIER DIVISION

League leaders Braintree & Bocking United looked to be coasting to victory when they led visitors Beacon Hill Rovers 2-0, Andy Johnson (52 minutes) and Brett Gardiner (70 minutes) the scorers.

However, Hill hit back in the final 10 minutes and eaned a point with Mick Hunt's goal and an 88th minute strike from Paul Waldock.

DIVISION ONE

Outwood Common Reserves beat Southminster Reserves 2-1 to complete the double over their visitors. Outwood were 1-0 up at the break but Nigel Lee's 20 yard effort levelled the scores.

The home team then snatched a winner with their goals being netted by Chico Hamilton and Lee Fisher.

Tillingham Hotspur Reserves lost 4-1 to visitors Sandon Royals , Mark Swanborough netting the Tillingham goal.

DIVISION TWO

Blackwater Royals and Moulsham Lodge played out a goalless half but the Royals then turned on the style, and goals by Grant Lunn (2), Andy Thomas (2) and David Tracey saw them to a 5-0 victory.

Old Chelmsfordians lost 3-2 at home to Harold Wood , Phil Kerridge and Gareth Prentice scoring the old boys' goals.

DIVISION FIVE

Leaders Gallabright drew 2-2 at Harold Wood Reserves . Gallabright led 2-0 at the interval but the home team came back well to level. Rob Wynn and Dave Cornell netted the Gallabright.

Woodham Radars beat Shelley Royals Reserves 7-4, Mark Sheehan scoring four of the Radars goals.
