A teenage boy is in hospital after being knocked off his bicycle in a hit and run accident on Friday night.
The 13-year-old was left lying in the road after being thrown over the top of a car which failed to stop.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened at about 9.30pm in High Road, Layer de la Haye, near Colchester. The car, believed to be red would have front end damage and a broken headlight.
