Paralympics triple medal winner Lloyd Upsdell has been recognised by his home town.
The Dunmow teenager, who has cerebral palsy, scooped two golds and a silver in October's Sydney games.
He was presented with a town award by mayor Douglas James.
Mr James said the town was proud of Lloyd.
Watched by parents Caroline and Geoff, the 17-year-old, of Braintree Road, a pupil at Gosfield School, said: "I am very pleased to get this award."
Lloyd won a sprint double by scooping 100m and 200m titles in the T35 category smashing the world record in both events. He also won a silver medal with the 4x100m relay team.
The athlete, who has cerebral palsy, has also been recommended for an Uttlesford Council special award for his achievements in Sydney.
