Canvey Island, with excitement building to a frenzy over the big Cup match, have been handed an excellent chance of making the last 32 in the FA Umbro Trophy.

The Islanders, with minds not surprisingly on the big Southend clash, were held 2-2 at Ryman League Division One Harlow away on Saturday in their second round match, but will be confident of success in tonight's (Tuesday's) home replay (7.30pm).

And, if they achieve the win over the new towners, another home date awaits them in the third round on January 13 next year.

Waiting to visit the winners of this evening's affair are another Division One outfit, Northwood. Not that Gulls will take the opposition lightly if they do get through as they knocked out the Islanders' Ryman Premier rivals Purfleet at home on Saturday.

Even so, it's a great chance for Canvey to stay on the win trail in a competition which ultimately they have far more chance of winning than the FA Cup.
