Rayleigh's Fitzwimarc totally dominated the annual Rochford and Castle Point Senior Schools' Cross-Country Championships at Sweyne Park, Rayleigh.

They took all four team prizes on offer and easily captured the overall title for the Gordon Irons Trophy.

In the junior girls (years seven to nine) the individual winner was Fitz's Nikita Aspinell from Sarah Jeffrey (King John) with another Fitz girl, Sophie Gahagan, in third place.

It was Fitz all the way in the team event with Fitz A (13) winning from their own B side (38) with King John A third on 42.

The junior boys was won by Fitz's Ashley Stock from Neil Birnie (Greensward) and Scott Blois (Fitz). Winning team total for Fitz A here was 29 points with their own B team again their closest rivals on 84 with Greensward A third on 141.

There was again no stopping Fitz in the intermediate girls (years 10-11) with Annie Lingard on top from King John's Carla Raven. Laura Myers (Fitz) was third with the team prize going to the Rayleigh school's A team on 18 from King John A (30) and Fitz B (55).

Only the intermediate boys broke the Fitz mould individually with Castle View's Chris Bourne emerging champion from two Fitz pupils - Lee Chapman and Anthony Kershall - respectively.

On the team front Fitz A won on 57 points from King John A (73) and Castle View A (108).
