Billericay Town's fixture list became even more congested with a further set of postponements during the last week.
The long awaited trip into Cambridgeshire for the FA Umbro Trophy fourth round tie against Dr Martens League Eastern Division side Histon became more doubtful as the weekend approached.
And early on Saturday morning the expected postponement came.
The Trophy fixture was re-arranged for Tuesday night, with Town keeping options open for a Ryman League Premier Division game against co-operative local rivals Purfleet in the event of a postponement.
The Histon pitch became unplayable on Monday to put the fixture off again, but a late downpour in Billericay saw the Purfleet game also called off 90 minutes or so before Tuesday night's scheduled kick off.
Town are now due to visit Histon next Monday (February 12), with a slot for any replay that might be necessary available on the Thursday night at New Lodge.
In the meantime the draw for the fifth round of the Trophy has been made, and the winners of the Histon/Billericay tie will host Nationwide Conference side Telford United February 24.
Billericay are due to be away at Gravesend & Northfleet on Saturday in a Ryman League Premier Division fixture this Saturday (February 10), with a 3pm kick-off.
