Only seven games managed to beat the weather on Saturday, but between them there were 44 goals scored with the top scorers being Wanstead Town, who beat Linford Wanderers 7-3 in their Reserve Division Three match .

SENIOR DIVISION ONE

Metpol Chigwell welcomed bottom of the table Hatfield Peverel and beat them 3-0, Moss (2) and Wright the players on target.

SENIOR DIVISION TWO

Barnston AFC entertained basement club Benfleet who were looking for their first league points of the season.

This was only Benfleet's fifth league game of the season compared to their hosts who were playing their 11th, and the match went the way of the form book, as Barnston won 4-2 with goals from Rosewell, McCarthy, Collard and Salmon. Benfleet's goals came via Cox and Purser.

Epping took on leaders Wanstead Town in what was Epping's first league game since December 16.

Wanstead consolidated their position at the top by winning 3-1 with goals from Cull, Quinlen and Pitts. Epping's goal was netted by Polle.

SENIOR DIVISION THREE

Shenfield AFC hosted lowly Galleywood and beat them 5-3. The Shenfield goals were put away by Cantwell (3) and Gillam (2), while Galleywood's marksmen were Dixon and Lunn (2).

RESERVE DIVISION TWO

Broomfield took on Basildon Town at The Angel and the visitors left with a 4-1 win, their goals being scored by Mullen (2) and Chivers (2), while Broomfield's consolation goal was netted by Crossman.

RESERVE DIVISION THREE

Laindon Athletic played host to second from bottom Standeda and the visitors won 5-3, thanks to Maxwell (3), McKie and Walker goals. Laindon's goals came via Walsh (2) and Green.

Wanstead Town beat Linford Wanderers 7-3 with Day (3), Ewing (3) and Luxton netting the Wanstead goals.
