A worried mother has issued a warning after her seven-year-old daughter's potentially dangerous medical pen loaded with adrenaline was lost.
Mary Turner, of Rochester Way, Basildon, told how the Epi-Pen has been lost in the Craylands area near her home. The 28-year-old parent carries the pen with her at all times in case her daughter Paege gets stung by a wasp or a bee.
The sting would put Paege's life in danger by causing her throat to swell and airways to close within ten minutes.
Ms Turner is extremely worried that a child will find the pen and think it is a normal one.
She said: "This pen could present a real danger to children as it looks just like a child's colouring pen. It has a hidden needle and when pressure is applied the needle pops out."
If you find the pen - which is grey, six inches long and looks like a child's colouring pen - hand it to police.
Danger - mum Mary Turner gets a hug from Paege as she shows a similar injector pen
