Time is running out to design your poster to raise awareness of an issue that is all too often hidden behind net curtains.

The Brentwood Domestic Violence Forum has organised a poster competition to promote understanding and awareness of domestic violence. All entries must be in before July 31.

Last year in Brentwood alone over 350 incidents of domestic violence were reported to the local police and other agencies.

The competition is open to people of all ages and artistic ability. The posters do not have to be a work of art, but need to promote awareness of domestic violence.

There will be prizes for the winners, donated by local business. Details will be given in the Brentwood Gazette.

Winning posters will be used in Brentwood to raise awareness of this issue, and will be on display at the Brentwood Domestic Violence Awareness day in Brentwood town centre on September 15 2001.

Entries should be submitted on A4, A3 or A2 paper, along with your name, address, contact number (optional) and age on the back.

Please send entries to:
