Maldon Tourist Information Centre may not be moving to the King's Head Centre after all.
Earlier this year councillors had given the go-ahead to move the centre from its current position in Coach Lane.
But chief executive Steve Packham said a report will go to the Environment and Economic Select Committee on July 17 to investigate other sites.
He said the tourist centre could still be on the move but the King's Head may be "unlikely" to be the site. He added the reasons were "confidential" and a decision had yet to be made.
