Corringham's Paralympics star Danny Crates has become the European amputee 400m champion.
Crates, 28, was crowned in Holland after setting a new personal best of 50.23 seconds in the final.
The Thurrock Harrier streaked ahead of top rival Sebastien Bach of France to win by around seven or eight metres.
It was his first big race since winning bronze at the Paralympics in Sydney last September.
Crates said: "Bach was very quick, but I'm quite strong on bends and left him for dead on the home straight.
"It was great to win, especially in a new personal best - things are going really well for me at the moment."
Crates trains six days a week with top British star Donna Fraser and will now concentrate on club athletics with Harriers.
His next big target is the world title meeting in Lille next year.
